RAF base sold for £2.5m on eBay- myHermes Parcel Delivery News

A former RAF base has been sold on online auctions site eBay for £2.5m.

According to BBC News Norfolk, the site - located at Neatishead, near Wroxham - was initially put up for auction on eBay last month, but failed to sell. By Thursday evening last week, the base had attracted one bid and the auction was closed.

"We're trying to check whether the person [who bid for the site] has got adequate funding," said agent Nick Barlow, of Barlow Associates.

The base originally opened in 1941 and was used by the RAF as a radar monitoring station until 2005, when it was bought by developers. An offer was made for RAF Neatishead in February, but failed to go through due to funding concerns.

Last week, eBay announced that it had extended its returns period  for parcelsin the UK and Ireland to 14 days, in anticipation of European Union regulations due to be implemented later this year.
