UK delivery services will be kept busy in London over Valentine's Day, according to a new report from online florist SerenataFlowers.com.
It suggested that people in London both sent the most flowers and spent the most money on them over February 14th 2011, with Glaswegians coming second in the poll.
Men from Glasgow are also upping their spending despite the UK's difficult economic situation, after increasing the amount paid out on flowers by 15 per cent between 2010 and 2011.
Traditional choices remain the popular option over Valentine's Day, with a single red rose the bloom chosen most often.
Luisa Tramontano, director of media and marketing at SerenataFlowers.com, admitted this was not always the case.
She said: "Last year's weirdest ask was to send a bouquet of bananas - the mind boggles!"
Couples in London over Valentine's Day will have a number of options for a romantic evening. The iconic London Eye is offering a number of packages with the opportunity to enjoy a panoramic view over the capital city.
