Many people have been left without Christmas parcel deliveries in the north-west due to the adverse weather conditions.
Royal Mail staff in Liverpool have been equipped with snow boots and spikes in order to reach the places made virtually inaccessible by the cold weather, but the service still has a backlog of 750,000 packages.
According to the Liverpool Daily Post, the Communication Workers Union in the city has said that the Royal Mail's express parcel delivery service only made 16 drops on Saturday (December 18th), compared with its standard 70.
Royal Mail has promised to try to make deliveries in time for Christmas, sending postmen on evening runs this tonight and tomorrow to make up for the current delays.
West Dunbartonshire has also had its share of delays, according to the Lennox Herald, which reported that those utilising the internet for their Christmas shopping may not get their parcels before the big day due to the weather.
