A digital shoe store which allows customers to examine designs and order items for UK courier delivery has been set up in East Anglia.
The business, called Oliveira, is already open for trading and is the result of collaboration between several businessmen, reports the Peterborough Evening Telegraph.
Bourne businessman Toby Hargrave said: "The percentage of shoes sold via the internet is doubling year on year and one of the biggest reasons for this is the low overheads of ecommerce."
He added that this made him feel the future of shopping lay in the convenience of online, multi-channel retailing.
The company also intends to harness the power of social media to attract new visitors from across the UK on to its website, setting up a Twitter and Facebook account with this in mind.
Items for the firm's catalogue will be designed by Marie Oliveira, who was inspired to launch the collection after a trip to meet family in Sri Lanka.
