Delivery companies could see an increased demand for products bought from Apple and Amazon after they were found to be the best for m-commerce customer satisfaction.

A study by research body Foresee suggested that satisfaction with the mobile shopping experience is significant in terms of business success and that computing giants Apple and Amazon are above their competitors.

Mobile shoppers that have a satisfying experience with a website are 54 per cent more likely to return to that particular outlet in the future, the report found.

Eric Feinberg, mobile industry director at the company, said: "Customers use mobile apps to research and make decisions, both in-store and out, and it's not always in the retailer's favour."

He added that one proven way businesses can ensure that customers return at a later date is to provide a positive and easy-to-use service across all platforms, including m-commerce and shopping using the computer.

A study from consumer research specialist Intersperience recently found that one in three people have used their smartphone to check price comparisons online.
